Turntable Replacement

I currently own an Audio Technica AT440MLa cartridge and I'm looking for a turntable to attach it to. My question is what price point or quality point would this cartridge belong with? Is $1000 and higher level turntable too much overkill? Sub $1000? Would a Rega be too much? Would $300 dollar Audio technical be enough? I would appreciate any advise that would help me to narrow down my options. Thanks.

The better the table and arm the more you will get out of the AT440MLa, 2K would be my top limit for that cartridge.
 
Depends on your budget. There are quite a few quality TT out there and I wished I had researched better before I bought my AT-LP120. Do you want a direct drive or belt driven? I prefer a direct drive, but there are plenty of great belt driven TTs. Most let you order or customize what you want in a TT. Recommend to stay away from getting one with a built-in preamp. It's the AT-LP120's biggest downfall. If I was in the market and had the money I'd probably by the Rega Planar 3: http://www.rega.co.uk/planar-3-2016.html
