Unknown Cartridge ID?

[jonboy55]

Can anyone help identify this cartridge.

It came with a Miracord 10H.

Thank you.

Jon

Have you tried removing it from the headshell? Often the ID stickers are on the top.

It appears to be an old Pickering "Fluxvalve". Held in some esteem in certain circles.
See, for example, pg. 74 of http://www.radioshackcatalogs.com/catalogs/1960/
or pg. 70 of http://www.radioshackcatalogs.com/catalogs/1961/

The color scheme of the one in the first post is unusual to me (but I am no expert).

It looks very much like a Pickering model 380 Stanton fluxvalve, see here...

Never mind.

Thanks!

Pickering U38, one of the first successful Stereo cartridges ever made. Shure being the other successful maker that early. 1958-1962 vintage.
