uxcell Film Capacitor can't find any info

Uxcell is a Chinese company that makes a lot of audio parts and components as well as premade crossovers. I do not know the quality but for that kind of money I would buy known trusted capacitors from companies like Parts Express, Part Connextion, and Sonic Craft that support this site. Solen, Audyn, Mundorf MKP’s, Dayton, Jantzen are just a few out of many companies that offer Poly caps in the same or cheaper price range.
If you already have them I’m sure they will be fine and for all I know MIGHT be great capacitors. With no information available online it’s a gamble.
 
Could be differences in the type of film, or film+foil vs. metallized film. E and C don't ring any bells per se. Usually the films you see are polypropylene, polyester and mylar. :dunno:

I found Uxcell.com and they sell all manner of stuff including capacitors, but their search engine returns no results for 8.2 uf caps so they apparently have none for sale at present. However there are some specs on the product pages if you can find a similar cap.
 
To be honest the shipping of $7 is what ran me off from those site on something that a stamp should get to me. I have a prime account and that all I could find. I will buy better stuff next time but I let my pride get in the way this time and speed.
 
No I have not, never heard of em before today.

Shipping is kinda annoying these days, I grant you. I wish PE and those guys would stick your stuff in a padded envelope for $3, but they seem to always use a box whether necessary or not, and charge a much higher minimum for shipping. I tell ya, if I could get this stuff locally, I would.
 
Whenever I place an order from PE, I will add as many crossover caps as needed to bring the total up to $110. I’ll use a $10 off $100 coupon and still qualify for free shipping. I have done this so much over the last couple years I pretty much keep a good supply of caps at different values and brands. The only time I need to order caps is for (fancy) caps from PCX or Sonic Craft. And the it’s at a customers request or recapping speakers who’s value dictate more expensive brands.
 
I don't have customers, I'm just bringing old speakers back to life. The caps that were on the old Jennings research were awful and anything is a step up.
 
Agreed, I was just posting how I get around the $7 shipping on a couple caps. I have actually not bought caps right away specifically for that reason. I have bought random MKP caps off eBay soley due to the undeserved high shipping just as you.
I have often wondered what the investment would be to carry just audio caps as a business and offer a more realistic shipping method. This would be on the side of having a regular job.
 
I have bought electronics parts from Amazon and Uxcell's are usually good simple parts (for cheap Chinese). I only had one bad item, a 25watt rheostat that was very poorly made, sent it back, quickly refunded. I did not buy semiconductors or 'fancy' caps from them.

All depends on whether you could get the wholesale cost of the caps down where the big guys are. If not, the higher product prices would eat up the savings on shipping. Interesting idea though, and I'm not trying to discourage anyone from competing with insane shipping costs!

I’ve thought about this before, it would be easy enough especially if it’s not your bread and butter. The profit margins could be fairly low if it’s one guy on his time off.
It would be nice to be able to go to a source and buy complete cap kits for any given speaker as well, similar to buying lamp kits for receivers.
I could kick myself in the man berries for not keeping schematics on every pair of speakers I have ever recapped.
 
A pair of Jennings Research Towers w/ peerless tweeters. I didn't know dome tweeters could get so bright. I want to LOVE these speakers.they use the old Polk style tweeters.
