VERY old BASF Chromdioxid-but how old?

Bored and cant sleep,so I dug these out-any idea how old they are?

I say 1976 or earlier. As I recall, BASF went to more modern looking housings with standard storage cases by the late 70's.

EDIT: I did buy several BASF 7" R2R tapes in '74 in the same style flip open case (if that helps).

I can remember having some of these around the house late 70's,but I was only about 3 at the time.One of them had Hotel California on one side and Rod Stewart on the other....

This is older than anything that I have ever seen before. So I'd say that it is probably mid 70 vintage.

They look pretty much like the ones we sold at my store in 1973 and 1974.

Pretty cool old things thats for sure-Did a recording on one a while back to play in the car(alpine 7618)using dolby c,sounded good to me!

OLDER then 1976 as I have a bunch of BASF chrome I recorded on in college 76-77 and they came in a flip open dark blue case that opened like a clam shell Tapes were all one color with a much simpler label.

SO my vote would be a couple years before that. Plus the bulleye logo looks just like the NOS BASF LP-35 R2R tape I have that I assume is early 70's

It do look's like their first Chrome tapes - thnk they came on the market back in 72. ( i'm a bit puzzled it's a SM casette though)
