Apparently youve never see an 80's era Kenwood turntable, they also made great auto head units. As for their home amps etc all of mine are pre 80's so can't comment there, but my brother had some and no complaints.

That’s fair. I am admittedly a novice when it comes to audio and I may be misremembering things I have read. Hopefully the sentiment comes through and I don’t come off sounding judgmental.
Oh, don't get me wrong, Kenwood like most any other company that sells to the masses also produced rather pedestrian equipment to meet certain price points. I don't purchase BPC so no experience with any of their equipment that would fall into this category.

Vifa reference series same style and trim ring
The speakers above have the same badges as yours. The exact same trim ring (can say I have never seen different manufactures use the same trim) and the ones in your picture obviously have Vifa tweeters so I am not sure why the worry.

At $50 there isn’t a lot of worry. The question is a large part genuine curiosity and partially the desire to have more information before making a decision on how to allocate my time.
While there haven’t been any pictures of the exact speakers I am referencing, with the model names people have provided I have been able to do a little more searching and found some information. The speakers you and others have referenced appear to have been released circa 2005. I suspect the speakers I originally asked about may have been a slightly later model. This fits considering the info I have found indicates the receiver in my picture may have been produced around 2008. Regardless, they are probably decent speakers and I might look at picking them up, even if I ultimately gift them to someone else.
Snell used some Vifa drivers, my Snell CV midranges are vifas. Pull them out and check p/n against Vifa specs, I’m sure they’re online, even the vintage ones. Quality drivers.
Oops, I didn’t realize they made complete speakers, I only know them as a driver manufacturer.

Around 1998/1999 there was an explosion of foreign companies trying to wrestle their way into the Chinese market. Beer companies, car manufactures, and speakers.........
Vifa was one these companies. And I suspect this is what you have here.
They were seen to be towards the front of the competition in the Hi-Fi malls and their price often reflected this premium.

It’s better to not say anything, then jump on the white van bandwagon. These look welll finished not generic.Why is it that so many here when unfamiliar with a product immediately jump to the "white van" conclusion? Why not just admit that they haven't got a clue?

Some mass produced garbage was made by all then big box brands lowering lines sell the junk to uneducated consumers. Bose and many brands still do this.

Ummm, After some thought I should add ,-Even vifa was copied by the chinese . If I remember correctly the (genuine) logo had red in the design. and the copy had poor graphics. You could easily spot a copy but only in the flesh.
Possibly China , factory clones???
Would need too see the woofers if ligit or knock offs.

Chinese are experts at copying and sometimes hack the website for specifications.
For $50 buy them ASAP haha .

Tymphany acquired Peerless and Vifa years ago and seems to have been moving the remaining old Vifa drivers under the Peerless name. Production of those drivers moved to China years ago. So the Vifa name apparently being used for other purposes. Unless one is involved with the company it is probably hard to know what their business relationships are over there.

Update: I contacted the seller Sunday and they had someone scheduled to come look at them. I received a message today that the person never showed so I am trying to schedule a time to take a look at them. I don't have the space for the system and I am mostly a stereo guy so I don't need a surround setup, but my curiosity has got the best of me. Worst case scenario, if they sound like garbage I should be able to offload them for what I paid.
On the information front, the seller confirmed that they bought the equipment while in China. They also sent me a picture of the owners' manuals for the speakers and receiver. In fact, the speakers are the same system that dly66 linked earlier:
I have also found some pages on Vifa "Sense" and "Reference" series speakers. Most of the sites are in different languages and Google Translate shows them to be mostly promotional. One sight indicates the "Sense" towers originally retailed for around $1,400 Another claims the "Reference" 5.1 set was initially $5,000. However, the "Sense" and "Reference" information mostly comes from European websites and the speakers in question are clearly Chinese. Additionally, the Chinese drivers look to be made out of less expensive materials in comparison to the "Sense" and "Reference" products.
Regardless, I am going to check them out because curiosity.
