Altec tube amps...

My guess is that those are underpriced compared to what they'd bring on eBay.

Why was Altec stuff always so damned ugly?...
When it comes to those "greenie" amplifiers, i think they had such a great reputation for both their sound quality and rock solid reliability that the company was afraid to change their appearance in any way. My 1569's left the factory in Oct/72 and look no different than a 1569 made in 1960. It's not unusual, depending on the application, for some of them to have ran continuously for 20 years or more.

Whenever I see stuff like that, it makes a part of my brain ask....

Why was Altec stuff always so damned ugly?...

Their home-use Hi-Fi gear was quite attractive, I've seen Altec tube amps and tuners here before. The green stuff was made for industrial use, no one besides the person running the PA/theatre sound system would ever see it.
