Dear All,
a bit of a curiosity here. My SO and myself are currently running two households due to us moving to another country but having to keep the old place in the other country as well for a while. I have moved my speakers to the new place, so am in need of some speakers in the old place. The listening room there is full of dark wood and the receiver is a vintage Rotel FAX 550 from the early seventies, so not much power (used to drive KEF 105.1s).
I got a pair of Wharfedale Linton XP2s from the bay, but unfortunately they arrived with only the mids working (which makes me think that this is more of a crossover issue than the actual drivers) but I am not much of a DIYer, so rather write them off as experience.
Being a fan of vintage British speaker looks, what would you suggest for a moderately sized floorstander that will still work but won't brake the bank (and maybe look similar to the XP2s).
