Haydn - Symphony No. 88/Fritz Reiner - Chicago Symphony Orchestra
RCA Living Stereo LSC-6087

Probably the find of the day yesterday, the 2 LP box set in excellent condition. Bought it mainly to compare to the 3 channel SACD reissue I recently picked up. Started with the filler on side 4, an excellent later Haydn symphony. It apparently was selected to provide the beginnings of Viennese music in contrast to Mahler's later work at the dawn of the 20th century.

I'll get to Das Lied von der Erde later today. It's my favorite of Mahler's symphonic works.

Cowboy Junkies
The Trinity Session
Classic Records/RCA

For fans of this album: I bought this Classic Records "Quiex" 200g reissue on eBay and crossed my fingers. I opened it, and from a quality poly-lined paper sleeve slid a nice heavy, glossy LP. More importantly, it sounds fantastic with all the recorded warm, natural reverb of the venue and is dead silent, obviously this recording has a LOT of quiet moments - just wanted to say this LP really surprised me in a good way.
