I'm trying to get some ideas for vinyl storage.

Could you guys please post some pics or links to what you are using and where to buy. Or even post links to where I could purchase these (or any) storage systems (shelves, cabinets or anything).

Thanks guys!

I'm a mid century modern guy, and use the RAKKS system, designed by George Nelson.
I put 12.75 in. by 8 ft. long sheets of plywood on them on 24 in. column centers.
Shelfshop in NYC sells them.

The IKEA Expedit series is very popular. I'd like to see that RAKKS system... gonna do some googling. Designdweeb... got any pics?

I used to have open shelving for our 2000 Lp's but had to find a solution on a budget that would protect the Lp's from toddlers and young animals. I bought some inexpensive (I wouldn't even call them cheap) cabinets from IKEA almost five years ago that have doors and hold about 400 to 500 records. They are made of pine. You can paint them or stain them yourself. My next project is to get sturdy all-thread and create adjustable shelves for my gear. I'll drill holes in the tops of the cabinets, insert all-thread, use massive washers and lock nuts, and have plain shelving to match so my gear isn't stacked on top of each other. If I wasn't on a budget I'd be writing something else. But for now this works.

I just use a bookshelf I got from target but I will soon outgrow that space I think so I'm interested to see what comes up in this thread.

Rakks Shelf Supports

Here is an old snap, still moving into the place. The new set up of the LPs and gear is much neater. I had the Buffalo Springfield album out because I was going to hear Rich Furay do a small room concert that evening, a benefit in Short Hills.
Enough to give you an idea...

I use the Expedit shelving also. Works perfectly. There's a pic in post #4 here. I watched for them on CL and got 'em about half price.

I use a few different setups. The first pic is one that I built out of melamine and painted black because an Expedit rack was a little too wide to fit there.

The second pic is an Expedit I use in my home office and it works perfectly.

The third pic is a steel shelving unit from Home depot that I had in my utility room and I needed a place to store a bunch of classical boxed sets that I had and didn't have cash to go to IKEA.

I will be getting some more Expedit racks soon as I am out of room!!

I just got back into this hobby and use milk crates since I have very little lps. I do however have a nice Oak bookshelf I have used as my audio rack since I got my first receiver when I was ten. When I collect More I will be looking to get another oak cabinet of a different style for my audio equipment and I will use the bookshelf for my lps.

I use the four of the Ikea Expedit units. I like them, but that top flip bin that McMagMan linked to would really be the way to go if I had more space.

Cute cat exhibiting the "MUST SIT IN BOXES" behavior.

record storage

I use Rubber Maid, linen shelving, turn the shelves upside down for a lip to hold the records. Got mine at home depot.

I like that shelving a lot. How permanently does it attach to the walls/ceiling? I could easily see using a set like that when I move to a larger and less temporary abode.
