I had a pp stereo 6v6 VOM amp from a console. It sounded OK but did not have enough gain. Apparently the preamp that it was designed to mate to supplied some negative feedback to the amp circuit. It probably would have only taken a simple mod to optimize the amp, but I sold it instead. Too much going on at the time.
I do own own a 1448 (PP 6aq5 stereo) mentioned by a previous poster, and also the 1428 (PP 6bq5 stereo). Both of these integrateds sound awesome. Not the quietest things in the world, but very lively and engaging. I could live with either one as my only setup and although they each have their own character, I have a hard time picking one over the other. It helps that they look unique and cool as hell too.
