Volume pot disassembly

Anyone have any experience tearing apart a marantz 2238b or similar volume pot for a thorough cleaning? I can’t get a dead spot out of the pot by simply using deoxit through the opening. I have the pot removed from the board and the back metal cover removed on the pot. But it looks like the plastic wiper holder might be permanently attached to the shaft… maybe I’m missing something. I’m hoping to save the pot. Anyone ever tear one apart without destroying anything? Thanks

I've never seen any of the generic audio pots disassembled.

The better pots from Alps and Noble are bolted together and I've taken them apart but not the ones with stamped metal and bent tabs holding them together.

Maybe someone knows how to get into the unit or at least how to clean it better if it isn't damaged to the point of permanent issues.

I tore it down last night. At least to the point where could clean both carbon tracks good by hand. Couldn’t get it all the way apart due to the way they permanently fix the first wiper assembly to the shaft. I did get it put back together and set to where both channels will track together now. They were way off before. There is a lot of play in the second wiper on the shaft.
