Very sad indeed. Their music was a key part of my soundtrack during my teens and twenties.

My first Steely Dan record was "Do It Again" on 45, I forget what was on the "B" side, I was maybe 12 and listened to that record, along with Edgar Winter "Frankenstein" all the time. In 1979 I bought a used boombox at a pawn shop in L.A., it came with a pre-recorded cassette of "The Royal Scam". That boombox and cassette followed me to the beach for that entire summer.

RIP, Mr. Becker...

I'm crushed ... so many great shows - his music will stand the test of time. I snapped this pic a couple years ago at Edgefield winery in Portland.

What a great show -

Might have to drink a few beers tonight and pay homage to the Steely Dan legacy.

I have been a big Dan fan for over 40 years.I had the great good fortune to see them in concert 3 times.I was so hoping to see them one more time.RIP,Walter.

I've been a fan for 30+ years and finally got my chance to see them last year in a nice small venue with excellent acoustics
After about four songs we realized that the 4 Seats Dead Center in the front row were still open, we took advantage of them for a few songs and snapped some great pics. IMG_2920.JPG
It was a killer show and I'm so glad I got to see them before Walter pasted

RIP Walter, you will be missed.

Bye Walt!
