Texas or nothin'
Even my cool running Class D Audio SDS-120C takes about 30 minutes to really get in the groove. But my very iron rich tube preamp (output transformer coupled) takes near an hour for it to fully warm up and start cruisin'. I don't think it has anything to do with the tubes themselves, rather components getting to nominal operating temperatures and all that good stuff.
So, while the music doesn't sound BAD before the warm up it definitely does lack a bit of the magic. Once everything starts moving it's almost instantaneous. The soundstage seems to grow a bit and a sense of ease comes over the sound.
