Warm up time...tube vs solid state

The warm glow of single malt and the warm glow of tubes gets better the longer it's happening, unfortunately then it is time for bed.

Never noticed a difference with SS.

The only amp\receiver I have that I let warm up is the Kenwood KA-5700. The only reason behind that is it has (most likely) some bad caps and until it gets warm it's just breaking in and out and horrible distortion. Once it's warm (maybe 80*F or so) it works fine.

I have a lot of amps and they all consistently reach optimum sq at the 7th to 8th tune always after idling 24/7. How long after turn on this is reached depends on how large the transformer is, it seems. My Superamp monos with a 1kw trans. each take three hours to reach a 97 deg.F idle, however my GAS500 with a 1.5 kw one takes only a half hour. Bias current clearly has a bearing on this issue.
