Translation: When my mom overwatered the planters she put on top of each speaker the water ran all over them. But the rings on top show they're really water-cooled.

Realistic Mach One Water Cooled Rockers. Recently reconed by Manufacturer. Rock and Roll to symphony, these three way speakers with 8 inch woofers rated at 8 ohms will rattle the windows and deliver the sound of the 70s like no modern digital system can. Speakers without stands.

Back then some drivers were advertised as "Liquid Cooled". I had a pair of 8" Yamahas with that label and never figured out what they were talking about.

Usually a solution of some iron salt, which was referred to as 'ferrofluid'. So technically it could be called water cooled.

Here is a web page that shows a ferrofluid cooled speaker. I don't see how the fluid stays in the voice coil gap or stays wet. It seems to me that it would gum up over time. Even when wet it it would seem that the fluid damps out the speaker and limits the upper end of its frequency response.

Curious stuff.
