Glueing up the second woofer now while on hold with Expedia.

BTW... I will NEVER use Expedia again in my life. Customer Service sucks huge hairy cockroaches. Tell your friends. Stay away from Expedia at all costs!!!

I found these handy clamps at Lowes for about 50 cents each. They are perfect for light jobs like these. Used these to hold the paper surround on until the glue tacked up. Then I removed the clamps, cleaned up any globs, and placed the woofer upside-down so it's own weight would keep the paper surround in place while the glue cured.

This one is now done. Woofer #2 is currently drying and the same treatment will be conducted on the paper surround in the AM.

Next up, reassemble #1 and listen for issues. #2 will need more attention to address the blown midrange.
 
I couldn't help myself. Put one box back together. These things are loud! You can see the refinished tweeter too. I will take some better pics with a real camera and macro lens a little later.

Now, I started a light sanding of the tops. Looks like the POs put planters on them which spilled over carelessly. I think the game plan is to sand all sides lightly and re-stain with a slightly darker walnut finish to mask the water stains. I think these original veneers are salvageable!

Oh, and the mid/tweeter pots in the back need some deoxit.

Curious, What's the best way to clean the grime and dust off the midranges?
