Wayne's Audio SS-T Turntable Periphery Stabilizing Outer Ring Clamp

I have one of the TTW perf rings. I used it often in conjunction with a center weight when I was needledropping my records. Without it, one could hear an abrupt change in tone as the recording transitioned from the first side to the second. With the ring in place the transition was much harder to detect. So these things not only reduce the effect of gradual warps but also ensure a greater evenness of tone throughout the record when used with a label clamp or weight.

IMO the sonic benefit from the ring it worth the small inconvenience of the occasional rub of the stylus housing. What makes mine rub is the native SRA of the diamond is off so my cartridge is tilted 3deg in the headshell this makes the bottom of the stylus no longer parallel to the LP. With the stylus parallel it never rubs.

My ring is around 1mm above the LP surface

EDIT: I just measured and it's 1mm above the LP surface
