I measured the system impedance of my friends 15's. Definately not for a low powered amp. Impedance drops below 2 ohms in the 80-100 range and hits 2 ohms just over 1kHz. The electrical phase is pretty flat and near 0 degrees, especially above approx 100Hz. However, they are set up for easy passive biamping with a terminal strip on the front. He has run them with a tube amp ⁰0on the mid/high section and it worked quite well.

Wow. That's a severe impedance curve! I've never seen another speaker which is so consistently below 2 ohms.
 
The crossovers are something else, too. Couldn't find the pictures earlier. This is the entire back panel of the speaker cabinet. Every component is marked with the exact measured value.

These have an undocumented provenance. The previous owner told my pal that they came from a particular recording or mastering studio in SoCal and that the Thriller album of Michael Jackson was done with these speakers. I've suggested to him that he should contact Westlake and see if this can be documented as it would probably increase the value of them a fair bit.

The association with Michael Jackson is one of Westlake's claim to fame. If yours are the actual speakers, that's cool.
