What are good Ear Buds???

I can't belief I am actually going to buy a pair of ear buds.

Lately I've been working at different offices and I started listening on-line. I don't know anyone in these offices and I can't crank it up so I now have to find some good ear buds.

Any suggestions about what Buds sound good and fit neatly into a brief case. Also, remember, that I am listening to on-line radio so super high quality is not going to get me anywhere.

Geez, I didn't really think buds need a "budger" per se. This will all be background listening so "not much" would be a good starting point:D

Klipsch Image S4.

I have two pairs, one I bought and the other I traded for an old PC power supply.

They're good. Heavy on the bass at times but very noise isolating.

Of course, if you have mucho dollars then much better sets are out there.

Gulp gulp. I had no idea that buds cost that much money. Although the Klipsch are going for $20 on the bay used. I wish there was someplace around here where I could audition buds before buying. That is what I miss about all the HiFi shops that use to abound.

The Monsters are a very good deal. I would get a pair myself if I already didn't have the Copper Turbines.

I'm still pretty happy with my Etymotic's ER6i's after several years. They have been superseded, but the newer MC5's are probably better and for less money anyway. They list for $80 and have replaceable filters to keep them from getting fouled with wax. Nice people there too. They fixed mine for nada when I accidentally yanked one of the wires out of them.

I think I need to give a good pair of buds a serious listen. I'd have never thought they would command these kinds of prices.

UE and Etymotic also make professional IEM's so custom fitting is also available. I might try that the next time I need a pair.

Check out Costco and Sams Club. I bought a pair of V-Moda and a pair of Lenntec Sonix earbuds for under $40 a pair. Both came with several different size ear seals and a carrying case. Sound is quite good and they seem very durable.

I'm with dj here...need some but not willing to spend much.I tried some Phillips noise cancelling that used to retail for around 40$...they were so bad I was ashamed to give them to a friend.

Yep, I think those will do just fine Ohighway. As I said, I will be writing the whole time so the music will be just background.

I can not believe these prices. My $2.00 set finally gave up the ghost after 3 years so, had jr. buy a set when he was out. He picked up some Sony model for $15 and I thought he was crazy to blow that much. He said he uses the same pair. Sound seemd goo but I only listen to old time radio programs in an old Centon 2 gig mp3 player/usb flash drive/fm radio that cost $40 about 5 years ago.

Monster Turbines. Worth the price. They sound as good or better than my over-ear phones, and better than most speakers yapped about around here. I'm not kidding. I slightly prefer the sound of my cheaper over-ear phones, but I can't take them everywhere. The portability and sound is really hard if not impossible to beat.

Looks promising...probably just what I am looking for.
Still about double what I would be comfortable spending.(I'm on disability...not much cash to spend)

Maybe I could score some at a discount somewhere. :scratch2: :smoke:

I'm sure the Turbines sound good but the price is a killer for me. I'm going to pick up a super cheap pair of buds and move up from there. Like I said, this will be all background music for me.
