what are you doing when you listen to music ?

Sitting in front of the computer with a drink on the desk or for more serious listening sitting on my couch with a drink in hand. There seems to be a pattern here:beer::D

.............R1:music::yes:

I second that one! :banana:

I usually sit back with a beer in hand prepared to relax, I soon find myself frustrated, and end up getting up about 20 times. I adjust my balance / Volume..... Then I pull out my measuring tape, and start adjusting my speakers.

After a few weeks, I get everything near perfect: I then pickup a new pair of speakers, and start the process all over again.

Although, this can happen to me, also.

Problem is when having the computer in another room from the Stereo.

This is why its a must to have a laptop.

Nothing better than Surfing and listening :)

Most anything from taking a nap. To sitting in my recliner drinking a nice cold beer listening to the Cosmic Island (internet Radio) or surfing the net reading the new posts on AK

Ideally I'm sitting in my rocking-chair (between my Corals) listening to vinyl reading a Stephen King novel (or the latest Car and Driver) while kicking back a few beers.

Aaahhhh, relaxation at it's finest!

Just finished Duma Key, awesome read.

To answer the OP's question - Music is on all the time, at home, in my shop, at work. Serious listening can occur anytime I have the opportunity to turn it up and concentrate. Semi-Serious Listening Sessions are with the wife, reading liner notes and making conversation. Often accompanied by an adult beverage. Serious listening is solo, too loud for the wife or if it's late I'm using my head phones.

When I listen to my music in the house I prefer to kick back on the couch and close my eyes and take it all in, just the music i try to leave the rest of the world behind. When I do this I get totaly relaxed for about 22 minutes, then its time to flip it over. Silence is not golden, music will set you free.....

90% of the time, I listen to music as an activity all to its self. 10% of the time (maybe) I have it on when doing household tasks or sitting at the computer. (The stereo, TV, and computer are all in different rooms and have no direct relationship to each other.)
I'm not much into multi-tasking. I prefer not to be distracted when I'm listening to music, or be distracted by music when I'm doing other things.
This has only recently become the case. For the first 25 years or so, I had music on all the time. Now I really appreciate the role of silence in my life. It makes listening all the better. :thmbsp:

Surfing the net or laying back lights down low and listening to the music, the instruments and small details.
