I mentioned that I mass loaded my speaker stands and I've just been kicking myself for not doing it sooner. These hefty 705 S2's go flat from 50Hz to 28kHz, and are rated at 44Hz/33kHz at -6 db. So they go pretty low to begin with but what the sand does is tighten the frequencies around 60-100 Hz so they are really beefy and not bloated. Really a big improvement on an already amazing speaker. Not for everyone though. If you like a mid scooped sound or don't want to hear what's above 10kHz, these probably aren't for you. Just finished Day and Age. Now on a MoFi Heart Like a Wheel.
