Saw this 1964 GTO in the parking lot of my local grocery store today.
Evening folks.
Don’t ask me why - maybe for nostalgia sake or the historical novelty - but I picked up this Panasonic 8-track player at local flea mall at lunch today. Seems to be working just fine for a 50+ year old player that has likely never been serviced. Very clean condition and the head looks to be in excellent shape. And the VU meter even works!
Came with 40 tapes, with about 6 or 8 somewhat decent ones mixed in (notably this Dire Straits and a couple of Jethro Tull). Most will need new pressure pad foam.
Just found the first glitch, it had a bit of trouble automatically changing tracks. Maybe dirty sensor or bad foil splice strip.
