Actually, been meaning to ask this here for a while:

For my 80s stack, I don't turn the individual components on or off - IOW, the power buttons are always depressed/"on." I just turn on the whole stack with the power switch on a surge protector.

Is this eventually gonna hurt my gear, or is that OK?
I do it all the time even with the coffee maker, as long as I don’t blow a fuse I’m good!

The only potential problem is if the amp switches on before the preamp- you may get a thump through the speakers...
Use a sequencer, and space them 2 sec apart, amp is last on first off
APC Sneider discontinued the ones I own.
Over and under voltage
Programmable delay time between switches, mine is set for 2 sec

Search sequencer on Amazon, or any music gear site , lot of choices
I would buy only new

This one looks pretty good, download and read the manual
does not look programmable, may not be a show stopper for the price
Monoprice has one etc

Pyle sequencer $100

Furman Sequencer $200
has the cute pull out lights
I have a biger brother Furman that works well

Went with a Samsung bundle. I've had good luck with their stuff all around, so hopefully it's built to last. The reviews were also good.

I can finally use the icemaker and water dispenser tonight - have to dump the first few rounds for filtration and safety, blah blah blah (considering some of the things I've put in my body, I doubt a little charcoal filtration would hurt, but, whatever...) :)
A word of warning. Don’t buy their washer. A repair guy has been to our neighbors at least 3 times just this year. Those sensors are junk. Period
