I started by riding a Peugeot Moped when I was 9 or 10. When I was 13 moved up to a Yamaha DT 175 then at 17 I bought a 1978 Honda CB550 Four K. When I went to Toronto for College a couple years later Mom wouldn't allow me to take the bike and it was put in storage. A fire in the storage shed burnt the wiring on the bike so that was the end of that bike. I have a 1982 Yamaha Maxim 650 and a 2010 Yamaha V Star 650.

Cool... lessee, what bikes have I had? I started after college when I was making money- I believe it was the Honda 175 enduro (forgot the model #), then a Honda CX500 opposed twin, water-cooled V-twin (cool bike!), then a Yamaha TT500 enduro (a brutally powerful dirt bike!), then a Yamaha Seca 650, followed by a Yamaha Seca 750 a year later... it was the Seca 750 I wrecked... :(

Went with a Samsung bundle. I've had good luck with their stuff all around, so hopefully it's built to last. The reviews were also good.

I can finally use the icemaker and water dispenser tonight - have to dump the first few rounds for filtration and safety, blah blah blah (considering some of the things I've put in my body, I doubt a little charcoal filtration would hurt, but, whatever...) :)

I've been fed a charcoal slurry (a good couple of mouthfuls!) at the hospital for being poisoned... stayed down fine.. was like drinking a pureed briquet! :P

Actually, been meaning to ask this here for a while:

For my 80s stack, I don't turn the individual components on or off - IOW, the power buttons are always depressed/"on." I just turn on the whole stack with the power switch on a surge protector.

Is this eventually gonna hurt my gear, or is that OK?

Dunno much about the brand but they had a serious reputation from what I can discover - I know on the cover of the NIghtfly by Don Fagen he is using a Rek-O-Cut.

are you running a separate amp and preamp? :dunno:
