What are you Listening To Right Now? - and more

It was 1985 and wife and I were newly married, I had my first real job (actually same job I I have today), and in first house (rental). Here is our first “good” stereo system. I still use the cassette deck in my main rig and still have the CDP and TT (all Technics). Speakers were Bose 501 Series IV and were replaced when we bought our first house 10 years later and WAF over-ruled in favor of sub-sat system.

Plus, we thought we were uptown with that 19” color TV! :rflmao:

And that was my entire music collection in the bottom of the rack :)
This was my first system.....Bought at the AF Exchange in the Azores....I too had a set of 501's. I had a rack with the glass doors. Had the TT too....there are pics of it somewhere..this was found on the NET a while ago.

I got my good paying job in '77 and once I made my six months (permanent status and the one I retired from) I bought my first true stereo - the JVC TT you see posted was part of that purchase in '78.

I remember when my 27" was a big screen ;)

The screw in mounting is very nice especially at this price point. I’ve heard the VM95EN with the elliptical nude and it’s fantastic for 130 bucks

Absolutely. Some of the other A-T moving magnet carts use that finicky screw and nut system which is difficult unless you have a removable headshell.

I've become a real A-T fan. I use their 95ML obviously, as well as the 740xML and 33ptg/ii. Also, the ATH-R70xa headphone has become one of my favorites

Happy Labor Day everyone. As a proud union member of over 40 years and two different unions i just did my duty as a member and filled out my double secret election ballot with the full intention of throwing the current UAW admin out on their collective ears. :rflmao:
