What are you Listening To Right Now? - and more

View attachment 3839052
The A.P.P posts this morning was the inspiration for this decided to spin my least spun A.P.P LP but still damn good.
Nice. I am pretty obsessed right now. Listening to the albums and also checking out old interviews. The story of them is as interesting as the music. What they did, two regular looking guys with no full band... it absolutely was ahead of its time. THIS TIME NOW. That kind of approach is now pretty standard, especially with the access to technology. So I would say its being done but filtered through other kinds of music. Daft Punk, The Mars Volta, Tame Impala etc etc...

Listening to Sinatra at Sands , and lots of other stuff at my friends house. Listening to these Carver Silver speakers that he worked on for a friend’s son. He redid the crossovers with new caps and re wired with solid core silver wire. Also put in the nos ribbon tweeters. They’re sounding pretty sweet. IMHO, you can see my B&W 802 series 80 I ff to the side. He had borrowed them for a bit and looked at something on them for me.

Awesome. I’ve heard a pair of those with a Carver M-500t. I thought the garage was doing the Wizard of Oz flying thing
That was L-O-U-D

AMMONIA AVE is my favorite but that’s a close second
Yeah by the Ammonia Ave album the songs were just flawless. Speaking of merging influences into a bigger piece. They pay clear homage while at the same time building on it. Take the Phil Spector thing for example.

I was a teen in the 90s and in many ways we were running away from everything 80s. Then after enough years have passed, I have revisited that music and have become excited about it.

The foolishness of youth, am i right? I just didnt appreciate great subtlety in music.
