New album from the astonishing Ekaterina Shelehova! A coloratura soprano (they're the Sopranos with freakish ranges, and capable of vocal gymnastics far beyond mere mortals... lol While she may sing traditional opera, most of what I've heard are Celtic songs and sea shanties, and the like... she has an astonishingly pure voice, the equal at least of Eivor!
She speaks 5 languages I believe, and lives in Hamilton, Ontario... She's a transplanted Russian, having grown up in Hamilton... give her a listen... :)
 
Yo AK! Hope everybody is having a good day. Not into fantasy stuff generally but The Chronicles of Amber (all 10! books) was excellent (particularly the first 2 or 3 books).

Donnie Darko was excellent as well and Jake Gyllenghal’s acting was off the hook great! Unexpected major stars in the film did a good job too (surprisingly - usually lots of star power screws up a film, with some exceptions).

Spin good ones folks!

I read the Chronicles of Amber when I was 10 or 11 and loved it. I'm pretty sure I read it shortly after reading The Sword of Shannara I was in grade 6 when I read both. My grade 5 teacher was a huge Tolkien nerd and read The Hobbit and LOTR in class. I have a bunch of Fantasy and Sci-Fi on my TBR.

I was a big Shanara fan (super fantasy nerd here). But it went on waaaaay to long and Terry Brooks lost the plot IMHO.

Oh Ya! It's a badass pie. :smoke: Was a 1st try at this place.
Wife just had a slab for lunch and made the immediate comment how freakin' good it was.
Will be buying from there again when in that neighbourhood. Which should be in about 2 weeks when my daughter attends a masters summit at the dojo headquarters. Pizza place is just a couple of buildings over.

Wifey & I went back to a restaurant and tried their pizza Friday night. So far, the best in town! All fresh ingredients help a LOT! Bonus: next door to the LRS.
