My CD/LP/Tape Collection

I hear that they’re approved by podiatrist association but may cause “muscle weakness” from what I found (also the price can compete with limited edition air jordan ).

I have orthotics for my previous foot problems which helped immensely. They’re designed to last a lifetime. My basic walking shoe is the Rockport pro-walker but they’ve changed over the years…

too soft. imagine walking on a squishy pillow all day over uneven ground. even flat ground.
the podiatrist association has to because their patients tell them so. sorry for the sarcasm.

Setting up a mini rig, 7-8 wpc

A little monarch SA-614

Digging out cables and mini speakers now.

Monarch Japan used some low grade pots back in the day, I’ve got brand new Alpha brand pots for this unit but the shaft length is slightly shorter. They will work and probably have a cleaner fit, the issue is the source selector shaft will remain the same. I don’t want the amp to have one knob sticking out slightly longer than the others. I can file it down or buy different pots. Just hard to find the original length shafts. The original pots are really open and tend to get scratchy every year or so. A quick spray of some F100 gets them sounding great.

I did fully recap this unit and had to some some careful work on the chassis.

The original can cap was slight thinner; I had to widen out the hole on the chassis and use a wafer to mount the new can. As you can see it’s an extremely close fit. The amp runs nice and cool; I was worried the power transformer would get to hot near that cap but it just gets warm even after hours of use.

All new obbligato Copper series and sprague caps. Mundorf too.

New preamp tube socket as well.

When I got the amp it didn’t produce sound, a quick recap got it playing nicely.

This little amp has some heft to it too. About to set it up with some fostex FRDs :)

Been wearing Ecco Track shoe-boot for 40 years.
Spendy but they last a long time.
Was my go to for 12 hours shifts at work.

Happy Monday evening. I arrived at my daughter's place yesterday and we (grandson, daughter, and son inlaw) celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving today. I help my daughter put up this ceiling fan.
