What do I need to run 6 dahlquist dq-10's

Yes, a re-foam of the woofers was the first thing I did to mine. They sounded great for the first hour or so then one of the woofers surrounds let loose and to hear the sound you'd think the speaker was shot. Refoamed them, then built the WOPL amplifiers and biamped the system. It's just right for me, any louder is painful. And I'm a lifelong musician so I like loud!

Same with the foam on my DQ-20i, just wish I had a place for them right now

Digging up an old thread. I too have a set of DQ-10's with the double DQ-1w subs and electronic crossover with two amps (Luxman M-02 for the mains and Acurus A250 on the subs). This setup is nothing short of amazing, but will not get as loud as many other vintage speakers. As stated by others, the DQ-10 are very inefficient and can absorb lots of power. I second the comment about a high current SS amp being a good choice and can vouch for the Acurus A250 and Luxman M-117 as being great single amp choices that are 2 ohm stable. I have used a Crown XLS-1500 in the past, but was not impressed with the way it sounded with the DQ-10's. Another good choice was the Soundcraftsmen MA-5002, which I liked better than an Adcom GFA-555. I am considering adding another pair of DQ-10's so I can stack them.
