The Lovely Blanche likes her Pepperoni (on the right), but hates anything that comes from water. I, on the other hand, like anchovies, especially with fresh thinly sliced garlic (on the left). Fortunately, since we've been customers for so long, our favorite pizza place makes us two small 12" pies for the price of one 18" one.

What do you like on your pizza? Do you like round or square? Thick or thin crust?

I like Pepperoni or Peppers and Onion on a Round Pizza (regular crust)
I do love a good Square Sicilian Pizza with Pepperoni also.
 
Local place in Fairfax run by 2 brothers, Lil Italian,
does a yummy gyro-meat and feta cheese pizza -
tho sometimes I skip the sun dried tomatoes and black olives on it.
We also get 2 12 inchers since Emma prefers pepperoni and mushroom.
Their Steak and Cheese is also to die for. ;)

One of the best pizzas I ever had was in a place called Portafino’s in Bermuda. Scratch made, all fresh ingredients.

My preferred toppings are pepperoni, sausage and black olive.

Never met a pizza I didn’t like (ok, maybe 1 or 2). :jump:
 
My favorite is Caserta in Providence. Sicilian style with cheese, mushroom and black olive. Cash only.

If we're making it at home we usually skip the tomato sauce and use fresh tomatoes, mushrooms, cheese, prosciutto, black olives, and slices of fried eggplant.

My all time fav is just Italian Sausage and Mushroom. Pepperoni is OK, but I think one key is the "quality of ingredients". There is lots of nasty Sausage and Pepperoni out there, yuck.
Got to the point where such was so bad, (sausage) I'd make my own.

Sometimes just a cheese pizza is fine, and when made right, it is delicious.

We all have different tastes, I dislike Onion, Peppers, and such others as they considerably alter the flavor of the sauce. Anchovies nope, Pineapple, Ham, Bacon, Chicken, and such aren't ever getting on my pizza.

Garlic to me on a pizza makes it taste like Spaghetti Sauce. I want tomato flavor, and not have anything get in the way of letting that flavor shine through.

I've eaten white pizzas, and yes, they were quite tasty, no denying that.

Being born and raised in Chicago, and of Italian descent, I've definitely eaten my share. Homemade, and the countless pizzerias-restaurants that made such that have come and gone in the windy city,
 
In recent years .. Pizza is usually a mid-week meal for us that we order out & pick up.

So price plays a role vs what we would like if we were making our own. More toppings .. higher the price.

Thin crust .. pepperoni & one other topping (normally mushrooms).

Thin crust always, and standard all the way deluxe large, meaning no fish, fruit, bacon, or chicken type, IMHO, silly strange pizza topping nonsense.

My go to pizza these days is the nearby local Papa Murphy`s make and take, that`s made fresh in a few minutes while you wait.

19 minutes at 425 F in my convection oven, and then allowing a minute or two to rest, and then I start stuffing 3 tasty slices down in no time with my B-I-L consuming the other 3 slices.

Got tired of filling up on the heavy thick crust bread & also the cheese stuffed crust type pizzas slices decades ago.
 
For pizza toppings, generally I like various combinations that include: pepperoni, italian sausage, grilled chicken, onions, black or green olives, roma tomatoes, peppers, ricotta cheese, garlic.

I love bacon, but NOT on a pizza , and not a fan of anchovies.

My favorites for getting pizza out at restaurants:

Giovanni's in Fairborn, Ohio. They make a killer thin crust pizza and their in house salad dressing is HEAVY on the garlic !

Any of the Ledo pizza locations here in the Baltimore/Washington area. Rectangular pizzas with thin crust and thick cut pepperoni that curls up when it bakes.

Also around my area ......... Squisito pizza and Go Primo pizza. Made fresh and very good.....

Pineapple, Pepperoni and Jalapeno. Or just Canadian bacon and pineapple, or peperoni and mushroom, or add some tomatoes, cooked or raw, either way is good. I'm easy. Chicken is fine as well.

Only thing I don't like is any white creamy sauce, ick, Or beans on a taco pizza, double ick.

Giovanni's is truly a blast from the past for me, which thankfully to this day has stayed true to form. Giovanni's was my go to back in my high school days in the late 60's. They always served up an excellent pizza. We'd go in grab a pizza and some Strohs beer. Giovanni's has grown over the years as it originally took up one slot in the store fronts along main street, now it's four.

You familiar with any other stuff in the area? Cassanos? Marion pizza?

Beyond that, how about Ye Olde Trail Tavern in Yellow Springs?
