I know I mentioned this before, and agree, the 4100 is picky about what cables one uses.
Yeah, when I got mine not long back, thought I was going to be able to use some high end cables I have, Shunyata, and Audio Sensibility. Nope, they were both no-goes.
But the less expensive Audioquest Cables worked just fine, they grab tight, they insert properly, and don't have heavy-bulky Jacks. The Evergreen Model being the cheapest, and the Chicago Model both possess the same type Jacks and both work perfectly fine with the 4100.
I have been using a 2m AQ Water Cable with the 72V DBS coming from my Denafrips Terminator II DAC, and while the Jacks themselves are fine and fit tight with a solid connection, the DBS network is pretty heavy though, and found I have to support the Cable at the rear of the Reciever with a small block of wood so no undue pressure is on the 4100's Aux in Jacks.
Yes I know, a bit of overkill, a $4500 DAC with a $950 list Cable. I did buy it from Musicdirect, but think I only paid $450 for it.
