What Is Your Favorite Integrated Amp?

Have had a Pass Labs INT-25 on order since the 1st week of January. Hope it is worth the time (& $$).

Edit - Arrived in mid-May. Very pleased with its 25wpc of Class A power.

It's the Marantz 1060 for me. I've restored two so far and kept one. I like the phono and preamp sections. I use it more as a preamp for power amps than I do as an integrated amp though.

I now still have my A-71 and it is a superb unit. All the caps are still original from 1989 and at this point performing well. Just a beast of an amp at 60 pounds! Dual mono, 120 WPC. Great phono section too! :thmbsp:

Just got a A-71 recently and played it for the first time through DQ-10s and it was sublime.

I have had it for over 25 years - and although serves my home office I say it comes close to competing with our audio room set up that includes Krell and McIntosh. Quite an integrated amplifier that has driven all sorts of speakers and presents a very musical and enjoyable output. I’ve owned Pioneer SA series and just is warmer and more musical driving speakers ranging from JBL and Klipsch.

Sansui AU 8500. wins against basically everything I have tried last few years, smack you in the face sheer gorgeous sound, huge power, 3d soundscape rarely even close against others. But also an amazing set of very usable controls even the loudness is shockingly good through all hz. Great user filters and reverse stereo, l+r mono, l both sides r both sides really neat and midrange defeat, 750,1.5 and 3khz switches..the stereo effect is very good. 75 watts feels more like 160 watts per channel. Very nice .

I have had 3 amps since my first, back in 1965. 1. Scott 299D. Great amp, last of their vacuum tubers. Lasted about 9 years before I retired, and later, sold it. 2. Knight 940(?). POS. Nuff said. 3. Sherwood SEL400. Since 1973, still use it every day. Has a mid range control, 2 tape monitors, and 170 watts RMS. As good as they get.

Well........ actually 85wpc @ 8ohm rather than 170w RMS. After 49yr it would likely benefit from a recap.
85w per channel RMS. Yes, at 8 ohms, where most people are. Or at least me. You say it needs a recap. But when I listen to it, it doesn't sound like it could get any better. Maybe someday.

That's because the change is slow over the course of those 49 years and your ears (brain) don't notice the small/slow changes. If you had some way to hear it's 1973 sound next to today's sound you would be quite surprised at the difference.

I recently recapped my speaker's crossovers and l-pads, and I was surprised by the difference. That is why I said what I said about my amp. I think I would recognize it. I also got hearing aids recently, and rediscovered my tweeters!!
