I have just bought the Time album of ELO from a store in Malaysia in February, at the equivalence of USD 5, and an album of Mayumi Itsuwa at USD 15 (both used, in very good condition). One of my most satisfying purchases lately.

Why does it even matter? What was the first LP bought? Third, fiftieth, hundred, thousand, first colored, picture, and on and on and on... :dunno:
 
I am just waiting for my Stimulus check and for record stores to re-open, They say some where around the 18th of May.
 
Luckily :dunno:, ours have been open the whole time. Online inventories and curbside pick up. They where also letting a few people in at a time if you wanted to go in.
 
I'm a big fan of the Christian singer Mathew Ward, made famous by the Second Chapter of Acts group with his two sisters. This guy makes the hair on my arms stand up with his incredible vocals.

Anyway, I managed to find - about a year ago - an unopened copy of his rock album, Armed & Dangerous. I hadn't opened it in all this time because I couldn't decide which format to transfer it to for regular listening.

Two days ago I decided to give it a listen anyway. Wouldn't you know it? Halfway thru one of the best songs there is a skip. The only defect on the entire album, otherwise noise free. This makes me sick. Especially since I paid a bit of change for a new, unopened album.

I bought a tub of LP at a local auction about 2mo. ago. Most of them were crap, but one was Asleep at The Wheel, Framed. I was only familiar with them through their rendition of Hot Rod Lincoln and thought they mostly played western swing style. There is some of that on Framed, but also funk and whatever you want to call this beautiful song.
 
I don't buy a lot of records anymore. I'm old and own more than I'll ever listen to. I did however run into a sealed copy of Christmas and the Beads of Sweat at a flea market last fall for five dollars. I bought that.
 
Damn I have not bought anything due to the closing of our monthly record shows at the firehall. But I will start looking online again after reading this post. Thanks for the reminder kinda get into a funk routine and forget that vinyl is still out there. Like to hear more about that Lucinda Williams recording forgot about her. good thread. I have a large collection but it is sounding thin these days.
