They are as obnoxious and unrefined a speaker as you could ever hope to hear.

They are as obnoxious and unrefined a speaker as you could ever hope to hear. They get loud with very little amp power. I guess this could be construed as an attribute........ back when a 25wpc amp was powerful. Nice, powerful amps are readily available now, and when used with QUALITY loudspeakers, can make music sound like music. These comments are directed at C-V as a brand. I've heard a lot of different C-V's and they all manage to sound bad. No particular experience with the model # you spoke of.
And now a word from the C-V lovers.................................................

A glib statement that betrays a lack of knowledge. Whatever one may think of CV sound the speakers were of high quality parts and construction, some on a par with Altec and JBL.
They were robust, capable of hard use and did exactly what they were designed to do in a reliable manner. Very good value.
Hardly white van.

Looks like you're in the minority on this one.........
Altec and JBL? Come on now, now I know you're joking around. :lmao:

I'm pretty sure everyone was referencing sound quality. Don't recall anyone even hinting about build quality.thedelihaus said:You're talking sound, with the above comment, right? But as for build quality, Tom has got it right.
