What was the last movie you watched?

Nobody II
(2025)

I liked this more than the first (which I also liked). No stupid Russian Mafia -- am so bored with that tired + overused plot device -- and an inspired to cast Sharon Stone as evil lady mastermind crook.

Re: Bodenkirk
I know it’s off topic, but a cameo flashback of Saul or his phone store or something in Pluribus would be so cool. After all Kim is still Kim and she’s still in Albuquerque.

Took in "The Man From Earth" (NETFLIX 2007), described as an intellectual Sci/Fi offering.

It comes off more as a Play, with an unusual theme...about a man who has lived 14k years.

Some really liked this dialogue-based movie...others hated it. I was in the "former crowd", but didn't care for the "religious twist" towards the end.

It was...different!

Melania - not at all what I expected and gave me a new perspective about her not shown in the media.
Mr Nobody Against Putin - Eye opening documentary about the brainwashing of children in Russia about the Ukraine War.

Tenzing (Apple TV 2026) - About Edmund Hillary and Nepali climber Tenzing Norgay reaching Summit of Everest in 1953.
Amazing story with Tom Hiddleson as Ed Hillary. (the more I see him the more I like his work!)

I watched Melania out of curiosity and didn’t really get anything out of it. It felt very superficial. Mr Nobody against Putin sounds interesting, added to my watch list.

I didn’t like Nobody 2 at all, it just was so unrealistic that I couldn’t enjoy it. It’s interesting to see many liked it.

I’m sure there are plenty of movies that I love that other people hate - that’s what makes the world interesting  .

I don't like a lot of movies most people like and I am done watching Murder, Mayhem, Violence, and Destruction movies which seem to be 90% of main stream movies.

I remember being dragged by my older sis, to this movie...must have been around 6 or so...and it scared the c**p out of me at the time!

I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen the original, I guess I should make sure. There are two movies that scared me shiwitless when I was a little kid - Forbidden Planet and Invaders From Mars. Most EVs’ low speed warning sound takes me back to the ground swallowing hapless earthlings. As an adult that scene in Signs takes the prize. You know the one, It’s right before you check your shorts.

The orig "The Day The Earth Stood Still" (2017) left it's stamp with me for many a year.

Even today, "LIFE", the Sci/Fi movie bothered me! Anything that COULD happen, like an organism we have no resistance to still makes me climb a wall. Accidentally an event of this magnitude... it is a possibility.

We watched Ozzy: No Escape From Now a couple of nights ago.

A must-see for Ozzy fans. Funny in spots, and really tough to watch in others.

Just took in "Brothers" (2026) a comedy, wherein Wood Harrelson and Mathew McConaughy play fictional roles of themselves, being tight,
life-long friends.

I liked it despite a low rating, as these "off the cuff" guys who wear their emotions on their sleeves.

Actions fast and furious at times and... ya gotta stretch for some contrived events.

Last episode indicates a sequel is to follow, keeping you hanging... a bit of a downer!

I watched the movie X last night. I'm not a slasher movie fan. But I remember it got decent reviews when it came out. What made it compelling for me was the porn angle premise for the gypsy porn crew going to this dilapidated farm and it's ancient owners to shoot their budget porn movie. It was an interesting take on the business and lifestyle of the sex trade workers doing their chosen profession. All coming to a "climax" when the older couple who were sex and murder fiends in their own right went on their vengeful spree to dispose of the porn crew in grisly fashion.
There was a sequel to the movie with its box office success. But, I don't think the story line that was compelling for this one could carry over for the sequel.
