What was the the last audio-related item you purchased?

While my intentions are good, I lack in willpower. I broke down again last night at seniors day at Value Village. I found a very nice condition Dual 1214 behind the glass last night. Got a closer look and decided to go for it. Tried it last night and Focus - Hocus Pocus sounded good. I need a different recording to gauge the speed but everything else is good. I told my 17 year old grandson about it and he was amazed when I told him what I paid for it.

And last week, I had another breakdown. An NAD stack and B&W speakers. The NAD are a 7000 working with remote, a 5000 without remote but working, and a 6325 cassette deck that needs belts. The B&W are DM-310s and are in nice condition with one fairly minor ding.

And finally, the item I got before that was earlier this year, also at Value Village. A 5 channel THX certified Rotel RB-985 mk2 power amp. Everything works on it. It was really cheap because the metal cover was badly scratched. Some sanding and a coat of paint fixed that up. I don't have a good picture of the damage, but I have a good picture of it along with the JVC 3 head cassette deck TD-V661 that just needed cleaning. I have a feeling that there will be another cycle of high end audio gear being recycled through the market.

Finally, I am including a picture of my best audio score of my life from a thrift (a pair Sony SS-G7 for $40) Yes, that's right! $40! Beside it is the Yamaha G-60 guitar I picked up in a Montreal Value Village.

An AT-VM520xEB cart for a Denon DP-35F turntable that I rescued from a trash pile. Works properly but needed feet and a new output cable. Makes me really miss a DP-47F that I gave away a couple of decades ago because "turntables are dead". They're so dead that I now own 3. The Amazing Kreskin, I am not.

Neighbor brought his over yesterday to show off his work on a Honda V45 Magna he bought with very low miles a couple months ago. The gas tank, rusty, cleaned with some chemicals and a handful of drywall screws for extra agitation. So proud of his work, showing me in progress shots and asked how he did expecting one more picture, but no finished shot to compare. What is up with that?

Then he asked about the numbers of screws he got out, “probably one less than you put in”

Should be a nice commuter bike when he’s done. He has already rebuilt two vintage dirt bikes.

tell him if he gets it really clean to use some tank cream in it and re line it
 
20x incandescent spare bulbs for my two Philips 22AH708 receivers and Philips 23AH105 tuner as stated before; but my first order just now delivered at a pickup point down town. Hence a coffee after pickup in a local restaurant ;-)

The dial scales of my receivers and tuner all use these same style bulbs and values.

And yes, I do know led technology is improving to mimic classic incandescent light bulbs, and in lots of cases have succeeded as such in vintage audio. But for my receivers and tuners ' alleged matching ' led bulbs still just don't look good. Especially not on the dial scale!

I have two more batches of these bulbs coming and two batches of other style and value bulbs for the meters in both receivers and the tuner and cassette decks.

I got a cheapy that works with my phone. Ones with a mount are nice, as you can set the screen in place and move the lens and light with either or both hands.

The photo quality is much better with the new generation of borescopes.

I just bought on on Amazon for under $40. It has a large screen and does color or B&W. It's come in pretty handy. I found out where the exhaust leak is in my Jeep using it. One of the thick retainer washers on the exhaust manifold is cracked, and another is slightly bent.
