What was the the last audio-related item you purchased?

Got two CDs this week from the "Penguin Cafe", the follow up band from Simon Jeffies' son after Simon passed in 1997 ...
I had liked Simon's original "Penguin Cafe Orchestra" chamber music after I heard the 1st album on Eno's Obscure record label,
and had 7 or 8 of those releases, but didn't know of the newer band until I heard "Rain Before Seven", a newer album via Qobuz ...

I found a solution to not having music in my office all week. This is a quick solution to the problem while I work on the Magnavox tube amp.

I was kind of shocked when I got it fired up. It is extremely clear and tight. Really tight and pronounced bass.

My old Marantz ND8006 has been having brain farts on the digital transport side. So I'm looking for for a replacement. I brought in a Bluesound Node N132,
PXL_20260623_190905981.jpg
It didn't play well with the way I like to run my network, I need to control via dnla. It sounded good controling my DAC, but only slightly better than the Marantz. So it went back.

And an above my budget Lumin U2mini. Just to see if all the hype about not having a DAC in the same box, results in a lower noise floor. Lumin with my DAC

My DAC has never sounded this good. Not night and day, but the sound stage and detail are noticeable better. Maybe I'll start a go fund me to keep this unit.
A Arcam ST60 is arriving tomorrow for a comparison. It's a streamer with DAC, but when a digital out is plugged in the the whole DAC and analog section is turned off. Hoping it's good enough to save me $2k.

Last bulbs for my Philips gear the 3rd batch not delivered despite Dutch post said it did trough the mail slot of our house just today at 13:40 hours.
Funny I have been home the whole day. My room is at the front door side of the house. The window was open. Nobody else left the house, there was no mail truck Dutch PostNl, no mailman / woman. And nobody else walked from upstairs to downstairs in our house or left the house passing our front door. So nobody fro our house could have nicked it in my house that is for sure.

So it must be making things up I suppose. Whatever!?!

From now on, I never ever use PostNl for packages again, and especially not for mail slot delivery.

€27 euros through the drain.

WOW!

Stuff often gets misplaced unfortunately (same with DHL here recently) here in NL, have you checked with the neighours if they reveived it?
I let them ship my stuff to pickup points nowadays, bit inconvenient, but works better..

.....P.s. I'd delete that picture, best to keep address data private.

Update regarding to delivered status PostNL, but not actually delivered.

According to PostNL; This can be the consequence of the mail deliverer / postman has maybe, although not allowed, decided to scan all the mail he or she has picked up at once, before actually he or she gets out for delivery.
Let's hope that's the case, because then the mail slot packadge will maybe later today or tomorrow get delivered.
Keep y'all posted!

And just now another purchase of three cassettes yesterday, the Dutch seller has just now informed me he is on vacation and will return the 23st, so if I can wait. I wrote I couldn't because if I do I loose my extra paid for buyers protection on that Dutch used goods / auction site.
This referred to buyers protection works like this: If the seller doesn't after two days after the purchase / payment, atleast has provided a valid tracking number; this used goods / auction site will not release the purchase price and shipping costs to the seller, but refund the payment with the shipping / postage costs to the buyer.

So 3 sealed Maxell SQ cassettes less.

I love this game changer:

Get venue ambience music like $750k SonusFaber Suprema & PSAudio FR30 with Aperion Super Tweeter RST

I've been using rear-firing Fostex supertweeters mounted to the back of my Soliloquy 6.3 mains for several years. The supertweeters are completely invisible in the room (mounted on back), and they add a lot to the sound and soundstage.

No stereo stuff this month: had to buy new tires for my Charger- the sidewalls on the original 10 year old Goodyear RS A2 were cracking and they were so rock hard that I couldn't drive it if there was any water on the road, it felt like I was driving on a slick of snot ! I put a set of BF Goodrich Advantage Control "touring" tires on it this morning (Costco - cheaper than tire stores by $200). Much better ride on our bumpy arse streets, smooth as glass on the interstate.

Next month I'll probably get another Mimir DAC for the main stereo, but I have been debating with myself that maybe I want a Bluesound Node Icon instead... these are they kind of dilemmas I have to deal with in retirement.
