What was the the last audio-related item you purchased?

Hyfi probably has me beat for least expensive or exciting purchase with his 33/45 adapter. Maybe I'll garner 2nd place for that honor with a box of 48 DivseriTech vibration isolation cushions, for $33, from Wholesale Supply.com - an HVAC parts vendor recommended by another AK member whom I can't remember.

What does one need 48 cushions for? Three stereo systems and a couple bass guitar amps.

Last week my Mark Levinson 515 turntable arrived. I set it up and installed my new Dynavector 20 X 2 HO cartridge. Made my own dust cover, which was a pain. The sounds fantastic and I am enjoying going thru and listening to all my Lp's. Its plugged into the phono section of my MX 151 which will have been mine 3 years this fall. Its a great piece. The phono section sounds just as good as my MP 100 I use with the other table feeding the C-34 with analog outputs and the MX 151 with a digital output.. Setting up the MX 151 is an exercise in patience. But having lived with it three years we have become old friends and have a nice working relation ship. The sound of the digital inputs is so much better than the MX 119 and MX 120 previously. And the analog sound reminds me of my C-29 I had for close to 30 years. I have a C-34 now for the stereo system part of the entire system, I think the C-29 and the MX 151 in the stereo mode sound better. Now I can make the C-34 sound more like the 151 by slight adjustments of the graphic controls. I bought the C-34 to allow me easily dub my R2R tapes and all the digital tapes I had made to CD. But the MX-151 brought the system back to life, and again recently with the new turntable. What I like about the 151 is you can plug anything into it and it will upsample the source and help make it the best it can be. Also you have as many inputs as dedicated inputs. I am using 14 inputs now! Enjoy!!!!

Custom ear moulds for Shure 535 IEMs. Had to first get an impression from a local audiologist. Sent those to Sensaphonics in Chicago for the final product.

They fit perfectly (naturally), provide a far better seal than generic sleeves which in turn delivers better comfort, isolation and transparency. I now fully understand why professional musicians use them for monitoring purposes.

I wonder if such ear moulds would improve the sound in any way?
 
I just bought one of these to keep out on the enclosed deck to feed by $25 amp and Dayton B652 speakers there.

Never underestimate the SQ of those portable CD players. I use a cheapie for a sound source when ops checking receivers & amps in the thrift shop I volunteer at. During this virally-inspired time, while we're closed, we are revamping the store layout. I got my work space back! I have a small donated Technics receiver that I had to do a thorough deep-clean on,(the subject of another thread I started a while back) into which I patch in any potential sound source for testing. Currently, said beater CD player doesn't skip, batteries seem to just go on & on, it sounded fantastic thru the little, old, refoamed donated EPI speakers after I set it all up again yesterday.Plus, it has a minimal footprint & an endless supply of CDs to preview from the racks of donated stock. Unfortunately, there's a reason most of those were donated, a lot of them flat-out suck!:p

I hear ya but I figured that for the princely sum of $17, it was worth a gamble.
