I understand that the Marantz 2238B is pretty desirable - not so much the disc player and I don't know about the speakers, but maybe not worth much either.

No one can give you a number based solely on make and model. There are many factors that go into the value. Condition and functionality are two of them.

OK. They are in very good condition and had very little use over their lifetime.

The receiver is the only one of any value. Ebay price is almost twice what local brings, so check completed sales on similar condition units.

As you see, it's hard to get a clear, solid answer to this unless someone on the site happens to have bought or sold the identical item recently, and even then it depends strongly on condition and how you try to sell. As noted above, the receiver is probably worth some money, maybe $200-300 in good condition, the rest not so much - perhaps $25 for the CD player, and maybe $50-60 for the speakers. The website hifishark.com lets you enter any audio product and gives you a list of current and recent ads for that piece. But keep in mind you'll be seeing mostly asking prices.

If you want to gauge what it's worth, don't judge by asking or listed price. Search by what the same units have sold for.
