What's New for '22

[Spitfirejoe]

Let us know what you've acquired that was released in 2022 and is worth the purchase price. Rock, pop, blues, jazz, classical - any music that has been put out this year and you think is GOOD. Tell us why you like it if you feel you want to - not required as far as I'm concerned. Simply listing it is your vote of confidence.

Just to start it off...

Eddie Vedder - Earthling. I heard the single "Brother The Cloud" on the radio a few weeks ago and knew I'd buy the album. I like the whole thing.

Just the single out so far , but it sounds good.
Album drops July 15. Alan Parsons - From The New World

Cassandra Wilson "Blue Light "Til Dawn" from '92 is released on vinyl in April '22. Sounds very good! Blue Note Classic Vinyl Series.

This was worth every penny. I love Johnny Marr's solo work with The Smiths self imposed shackles off.

(Homemade Records, 2022)

I'm not giving this a full throated recommendation yet, having only listened through it a couple times. It's a bit uneven, and his voice sounds horrible at first listen. It IS growing on me, though.

John Mellencamp - Strictly A One Eyed Jack

One track I really liked - "Did You Say Such A Thing?"

[Spitfirejoe]

Bonnie Raitt - Just Like That

And just like that your life can change. if I hadn't looked away
My boy might still be with me now, he’d be 25 today
No knife can carve away the stain, no drink can drown regret
They say Jesus brings you peace and grace
Well, He ain’t found me yet

[bluesky]

Nothin yet.

[Spitfirejoe]

Harry Styles - Harry's House for some light, summery pop music.

[deadbeat son]

Dan Andriano and the Bygones - Dear Darkness

I've enjoyed Dan's past work with his band, and his previous solo projects have been decent, too. However, this solo project is a serious step forward; his songwriting is really coming into its own and the production and instrumentation is great on this record. It's so well crafted, I love it!
