What's your latest audio purchase?

Sansui EM-P2 "Handy Studio" personal instrument/vocal recording mixer amplifier. Which is really like a cassette walkman for musicians to record on. It records voice and one instrument at the same time like a guitar or organ. And it has pitch control.

The headset and mic are really cheap but I guess they figured that musicians would have their own mic and headset anyway. A computer mic/headset plugs in and works real nice.

A very convient tool, a "Handy Studio", as the name implies.

Don't know if it's Sansui Japan or Sansui China but it's Sansui (Tokyo) anyway, so I guess it's Sansui Japan. I remember when this unit came out years ago, I always wanted one, a useful tool. Done Deal.

A Yamaha 2040 receiver in pretty good condition for $150. DQ-10's with active crossover and sub for $100. Have to do some reconditioning on the speakers but they play now.
 
I have two (got them the same day): first is a Luxman L-100 integrated amplifier that I picked up at an electronics surplus for $25, the second is a Fisher Medalist Series II mono receiver (sans everything else) for $50. The first will be inserted into my main system (displacing the Kenwood C2 Basic and instigating a swap of the Hsu powered sub with the unpowered NHT 1259 in the home theater) and the second will be stripped of transformers which will be used to build a Fisher 30-A clone. At some point down the line I'll replace the transformers with non-Fisher (probably Edcor) so I can build the Medalist + Realistic SOLO-103 into a "mini" desktop mono tube boombox.

My intention was to purchase the Signatures and nothing else. However things can change and they did. I had a budget for this secondary system I am putting together and found myself also wanting a small sub but the Signatures and a sub were a tad more than I wanted to shell out so I rethought everything and with some assistance from my friend who owns the shop I decided to take a listen to a pair of .5 bookshelfs hooked up with an EPOS ELS-10 powered sub. This combo was dynamite together and for the room this system is going in it was perfect. I even got to take everything home and try it out before I made my final decision. LSA makes a gorgeous speaker as you, as an owner, are aware of. They look like the drivers were set into a solid block of Rosewood. The LSA sound is some of the best I've heard in a small speaker and I envy you in getting the Statements as they are an incredible sounding speaker for their size. That ribbon tweeter is so sweet! I have made up my mind that in the not too distant future I will purchase the LSA2 Statements. I listened to several recordings on them and was blown away. It doesn't appear that too many AKers are even aware of this company out of Nashville, TN but you and I are, and we need to spread the word. Congrats on the purchase of your LSA1 Statements. Are you running them with a sub by chance or on their own? BTW, I contacted Brian Warford at LSA and asked him whether he was planning a matching sub for his speakers and he told me they had looked into it but one is not in the works at this time. Perhaps at a later date? I told him if he does introduce one I won't even ask the price, I will be first in line to order one.........:D

Made a purchase today but not for me.:no:

Drove a few hours today to pick up some new stands for my parents. I bought them some Paradigm Mini's last year and every time I go over, there they are... sitting on the carpet. I got them a Marantz TT and receiver around the same time.

Told them the next time I see those babies on the floor Im taking it all back.
:nono:. Funny thing is they know better. They have a great amount of good quality vinyl and love music.

So here they stand (literally I guess). I love the look of them. Parents are on there way over to pick them up and of course I ask my wife.... "quick...which ones you like better"... They wont know. :D

Luckily for them my wife likes ours better. I get a kick out of seeing others get good deals on audio gear. Especially the parents.
 
I recently purchased a Shure V-15 IV cartridge at a local (used) record shop for $65.00. I guess that was its original price. It was labeled a type II but when I opened it up it contained a type IV instead...these things just don't happen to me.....I guess they do now!
 
I've been buying smoke and mirrors... Err, I mean cables. In the last month I've got two Grant Fidelity PC1.5 power cords and two Morrow Audio MA-1 interconnects all for my main system.
