What's your latest audio purchase?

^^^
^^^ Dang they fine! I just got a Nikko NA-690 Integrated amp and a pair of Infinity RS-225's in need of a refoam all for the grand sum of $25, yeah buddy!

A pair of cosmetically challenged Pioneer HPM-100 speakers. :thmbsp:
I had to get them out of a garage, poor thing. :sigh:

For $35, no one had to twist my arm to make this purchase. :D

A pair of Eminence LAB12 drivers for the new home theater subwoofer project.
(project is on-going, this is a test box, not the final box)

Recently added a VPI Aries I to my main rig, pushing a VPI Classic to the headphone rig, which in turn replaced my long-term VPI HW-19 Mk IV.

My latest acquisition was a Toshiba SD-4109x 6 disc multiplayer for $25. Purchased primarily for the HDCD capability, it's in a nearfield setup on the Dining room table with my previous 2 purchases which are a Nakamichi SR3A Stasis receiver and a pair of EPI 70 speakers both also for $25 apiece.

I've been listening to Jazz and females vocals, Joni Mitchell and John Coltrane, and seems to be a level above what I have, BA 70's powered by an Insignia home theater receiver, although I suspect the near field also has something to do it.

The latest purchase consisted of four 6BH6 tubes, two 6CG7 tubes, a cap for the Thorens, and parts to build better speaker cables.

I really don't buy much anymore, but the last purchase was a Pioneer DV-563A player for $40.

Before that, it was a batch of Toshiba 2SK170 and 2SJ74 J-fets, just for giggles.

Best Regards,
TerryO

I got a couple good deals a few weeks ago at Denver's Vintage Voltage Expo. A Cayin A-88T Tube amp for $550 and a pair of Grado HP 1000 headphones for $20. From what I've found on the Net the Grado's were a special edition with only 1000 made.

JVC QL Y66F Turntable

Hey Now,

I picked up a JVC QL Y66F turntable yesterday off a CL advert. Paid 60 bucks for it from the original owner who bought on June 9, 1986 in Ramstein AB, Germany for $280.00. It has a Shure ML 140 HE cartridge. It sounds very nice. It needs a good cleaning, a bit dusty. I'm liking it

Oh yeah, hell of a deal on those Grado HP-1000's!

A really nice pair of ESS-AMT-1A, all original and re foamed 5 years ago, with all paper work and owners manual. Why didn't anyone tell me the heils were this nice, i would of been looking for a pair of these a long time ago.

Audio-Technica-ATH-ESW9A.jpg

Not my picture, but a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-ESW9a Headphones. They're quite amazing when amped, and there's a couple mods out there to improve the soundstage. Just need to find some Sticky EVA Foam.
