Popped these open early this morning and was quite surprised to find different drivers in each one. I tested the speakers first and they didn't sound too bad. What do you all make of this?Found these big honkin' speakers today. Haven't tried them out or opened them up yet. Lafayette name on the panels for the tone controls. No idea what actual drivers are in there.

My guess as well, mono was still a thing at that time. What intrigues me the most is the Western Electric horn midrange that was in one of them! I smell radio money!Originally sold as singles at different times until a previous owner paired up a couple of orphans?
I love how they were able to make the bakelite look like bureled wood back then.Cute little General Electric GD-500 from 1939 is my latest find.

Those 93XX series EL84 PP amps were the best Magnavox made.Sweet little 9302-00 amp, 15" woofers, mids, and 4 tweeters. Cleaned 65 years worth of dust out of it. Wife likes the MCM look and for now it's in our dining area. Excuse the mess.
Edited to say: Bonus for no mouse turds!

Actually those are Time Windows. Again an interesting combination that needs some documentation from you to help determine what they were/are.DCM Time Frames!
Nice catch, dunno why I typed Frames instead of Windows. There's no serial number, name plate, or anything even indicating DCM made them.Actually those are Time Windows. Again an interesting combination that needs some documentation from you to help determine what they were/are.
Any serial number stamped into the top of the bottom plate on the back of the speaker?
Yes, they look like early TW, they didn’t use a 1 in the number until the 1a showed up.
Looks to be DCM woofer, making them one of the later versions of the early (first 10,000), if these were not updated when the tweeters were changed.
Early also because of dual ports on the outside edges.
More to uncover about these speakers.
Unless these are 1a with a nut on a chunk of all thread, you probably don’t want to go inside. Too much work.I might get into these at some point
