Personally I prefer the Total experence of Audio/Visual.

I wanta see Van Halen or Earth Wind and Fire kickin butt on big Screen along with nice full stereo sound.

However, having said that...

I have had profound experiences listening to Frank Sinatra in the dark with a large tumbler of Bourbon.
 
Pure Audio: LPs are my absolute favorite by far. CDs are fine too, but I much prefer LPs.

Stereo: 2 Channel, no sub woofer. I let the big box speakers do all the work. :)

Video/DVD: I like them, have many, but rarely, if ever, watch them. Gave most to my nephew. Kept about 15 of my favorites, that I never watch. I should though. Maybe soon now that you've mentioned it and I'm thinking about it. Video is on a different stereo system, a sub woofer is manditory.
 
Not really just simple video's
I like watching Full concerts on a huge monitor combined with a nice stereo system...HOOKED!

I'm usually doing something else while listening, so I'm far more an audio-only type. Right now I'm listening to Quadraphenia while waiting for my soldering iron to heat back up so I can restuff caps in my Sherwood.
 
No holes barred here. Whether I am singing it to myself, or at work with some ear buds, or at home doing some serious listening, I find that I just truly and genuinely enjoy music regardless of format or discrimination. My only real special joy is to listen to it live. Other than that it seems to be all good no matter. I don't really fall into one or the other category.
 
While it's interesting and enjoyable to watch your favorite artists on a well produced DVD or TV show (e.g., Austin City Limits), I can only watch such videos 2-3 times before I tire of them. Albums from my favorite artists can be enjoyed many more times and in many more places.
 
Take a guess... I have a 32" CRT tv (that has an 1 1/2" lg x 1/32" black streak in the upper right corner), yet instead of buying a new tv, I recently purchased a MC-2200 amp for $560 b/c it was too good a deal to pass up. Further, I don't have DISH, Cable, DirectTV, or any other tv service. However, I do have about 18,000 songs ripped to my computer.

Nice setup you got there... That S-6000 is a really-nice unit (Does yours have the turntable on top?).

By the way, to answer the thread, I usually hate music videos (with some exceptions). I think MTV hurt the music industry in a lot of ways (especially once they started in with the reality TV crap).

Both, but mostly number one.

My music room and 2nd home theater are in a large L-shaped room with separate systems. I spend most of my music time listening to records and cds.

I have a very large collection of concert DVDs, but I find that I watch them a couple times when I first get them but then they sit for years without being watched again.
 
Both for me. Although I do listen to LP,s tapes and CD most of the time but I also have soooo many concerts on both DVD and yup, even VHS. Personally, I prefer the concert over watching music video's. I like to watch, listen and learn what the band can do on the stage as compared to what they are doing in the studio.
