When it comes to Your Music...

I am a born multitasker. For example, on Monday night I had the game on the TV muted, a first press "Live Cream" record going on the hi-fi, while playing a game on my laptop (Torchlight II).

I totally agree. However, 90 percent of the time I've got the TV on with no sound while simultaneously surfing the web on my laptop like I'm doing right now listening to Sabastion Bach on Spotify. Sounds great but this guy really sucks. :D

I'll have to try the Bjork thing...maybe we'll just go totally naked! :banana:
 
Lot's of times Im occupied with doing other things while listening, but usually im just :music: No rhyme or reason to it. Lot's of times its with some beer (Zeppelin, louder rock,etc) or wine (Phoebe Snow, Joni Mitchell,etc)...

It's all about the experience...Since I recently upgraded my table, Im still learning JUST how good records can be (sorry! I know this isnt a vinyl thread)
 
80% Audio, 20% Visual.

The 20% visual being the LEDs that flash to the bass in any song in every corner in my room :)
 
The majority of the time for me it's lights out and being totally immersed in whatever it is I am playing at the time. At the same time howver when I am watching a DVD of a concert etc. then of course I will have the lights dimmed and be watching the performers on stage, etc..............

That's me,too . Except for the singing part, I'm terrible.
I just think of them as two different(but enjoyable) experiences. If somebody asked me if I was a BBQ person or a French cuisine person, I would say, "yes, yes I am".
 
Mostly it's been audio only. It's more relaxing.

With video it's like watching a movie. You've seen it, you know what happens.

I have music videos I really don't want to sit through again. Some never opened. Some purchased just for historical purposes. Some camera work gives me headaches and makes me nauseous.

With audio only you can use your imagination.

As mentioned, people like to do other things. You can focus on your friends, entertain, a little wine, a little music...

By the way, to answer the thread, I usually hate music videos (with some exceptions). I think MTV hurt the music industry in a lot of ways (especially once they started in with the reality TV crap).

Nope, the turntable got busted in shipping. I kind of knew it would happen so it doesn't bug me too much. I just wanted it for it's amp section. I've got some pictures in the new member section with my Dual 701 on top, you can't tell from looking at it that it was a combo unit.

I agree about MTV. If the music is good it doesn't need to be supplemented with a video. Not that I always turn out the lights when I listen to my music, I'm not always in the right mindset to get fully immersed in the music. I do plenty of listening while lurking the web.
