Where to get a Plinth Template for a Dual 721 TT

Just bought a Dual 721 TT today for pretty cheap. Think I did well on it.

From what I'm reading in various places, it's a pretty good TT. I've never owned a Dual before. I'll be interested to give it a try out next to my Denon DP-59L when I get my new system up and running.

I see that the 721 has a rather cheap plinth. Would like to have my master craftsman woodworker friend make me a custom plinth for it. Just wondering if there are any plans/templates available for this model readily available for download or purchase anywhere? What other Dual TT models would share the same plinth design as the 721? I'm guessing the 704 and 701 but what about the 1200 series?

If it is that cheap plastic one, I know the 505, the 621, and the 522 use that same one and it is interchangeable. But I agree, a nice wooden plinth would do these models more justice.
 
1219, 1229, 604, 621, 721 and a few others share the same cutout. Definitely one of the top Duals.
 
Did Dual actually make plinths or are they all third party (not counting third party plinths resold by Dual)?

Not mind boggling. Remember, the Deutsche Mark was high in this era against the US Dollar. That was forcing some economies on Dual turntables, and the wood plinths likely got abandoned as it would have made the turntable more expensive. Dual was having a hard time keeping prices reasonable when the 721 was introduced. Dual prices were on the increase then due to the decline of the US Dollar. One reason why my local long time HiFi Dealer ceased selling new Duals for around 5 years. Pioneer became his bread and butter turntable for that medium price point. Dual prices were pushing almost $300, which got them close to Thorens territory.

I went directly to his website and you are right, he states that it is a solid walnut plinth.

From the photo, it looks like the crappy original because he uses the same crappy masonite platform. If he is going to go thru the trouble of fabricating a new plinth and use solid walnut, why not use something more substantial than masonite? That's the part that actually supports the turntable.
