“It’s a dream for agencies to work with iconic brands and to be associated with meaningful movements. We have a strong history of producing experiences that bring people together around common interests and causes which is why we chose to be a part of the Woodstock 50th Anniversary Festival. But despite our tremendous investment of time, effort and commitment, we don’t believe the production of the festival can be executed as an event worthy of the Woodstock Brand name while also ensuring the health and safety of the artists, partners and attendees,"

Blork...

"Agencies"
"Iconic brands"
"Woodstock Brand name"

Corporate marketing bollocks that is the antithesis of Woodstock, surely...?

The last paragraph seems promising:

In the meantime, the original Woodstock site is still scheduled to celebrate its 50th anniversary in Bethel, N.Y. The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts scrapped plans for a weekend-long festival, but will have four days of events: A free concert by Arlo Guthrie and a screening of the “Woodstock” documentary on the field Thursday, Aug. 15; Ringo Starr, Guthrie, and The Edgar Winter Band on the pavilion stage Friday, Aug. 16; Santana with the Doobie Brothers on Saturday, Aug. 17; and John Fogerty on Sunday, Aug. 18. Guthrie, Winter, Santana and Fogerty all performed at the original Woodstock festival.

He was producer of the first, original Woodstock.

Same guy was running this event also. From the article in the first post:
However, Woodstock co-founder and 50th anniversary festival organizer Michael Lang is vowing a fight.

“Woodstock 50 vehemently denies the festival’s cancellation and legal remedy will (be) sought,” Lang said in a statement to the Journal.

It’s unclear what legal action Lang can take without the event’s largest financial backer.

When today's kids look fondly back at the Sixties they don't look at a 3 day wallow in puddles of rain, mud, trash, and human waste with entertainment that was way too top-heavy with stale hippie sensibilities and utterly lacking in anything edgy like Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, or Led Zeppelin. I hope that wasn't too blunt.

Not sure why you felt the need to use this as an excuse to unload political commentary on a younger generation, especially when the man who was in-charge when it got cancelled (age 74) is not exactly a member of that younger generation.
I don't see that as a political statement. If you do, I think that's your problem, not mine. If anything, it's a statement on society in general.

50 years ago people simply got stoned and acted silly. Nowadays, riots are commonplace.

Granted, but when we complain about the following generations it is easy to fotget that modeling has a tremendous influence. Our actions tend to speak louder than our words.
I'm not forgetting 'modeling'. I'm looking at the biggest socio/economic/moral changes in history.

But this isn't the place for discussion, it's ruled out.

Kids today don't look fondly back on the past because they don't care about the past,in all honesty why should they?

Now those are some mighty big rose colored glasses. Did you forget Newark? Kent State? The 1968 Democratic convention? The abuses heaped upon civil rights activists? Lynchings? Bombings?

As for entitlement, there's a reason the Boomers used to be called "The Me Generation".
