Wife Wants Big Speakers that Rock - Suggestions?

I like a wife who likes big speakers. You one lucky man. She is a keeper. Let me know if she leaving you? I want the big speakers, and looking for a size as big as Altec Magnificient (A7). I want them to really ROCK and shake err break the windows. I want pain in my ears.
My old speakers already so loud that I cannot hear sh*t when they turned up and I get a little hard to hear after I stop the music....still not loud enough. I want the speakers to blow out matches three feet from speakers. Call me an audio nut or nuts.

You are correct. I am enjoying the heck out of the HPM 100s. Even if I don't have time to rock out, I run downstairs and look at them after I tuck my kids into bed.
The Yamaha CR 1020 with the HPM 100s really rocks with CD sources, but I need more power for vinyl due to that "gain" thing. I predict a monster receiver in 2007.

Ken; I didn't read all 11 pages, so sorry if this has already been said. If the wife wants you to buy more vintage audio - milk it for all its worth. This is one of those situations where I'd bi-amp some subwoofers. Use your "normal" setup with something clear and clean, like some old Boston Acoustics A-100/150/200's, or old Yammy's. Then buy or build some nice 15" subs. Get a nice x-over and something like a Phase Linear 400. Doesn't need to be that exact amp, just something with some cojones.
