Will a 230v to 100v Converter still work in the US

I bought a Japanese turntable from the UK and it comes with a very expensive UK-JA5000HW 230v to 100v converter. Can I still use it here or does the input have to be 230v?

you need to drop from your local voltage to 100v .. so 230v wont work .from what i see the unit is a transformer .it might have stood a chance if it was a switchmode supply

It will need to be connected it to a 240 volt circuit.

See if the transformer has multiple voltage options. It may have an internal tap that can be changed. If not, you'll get 50v output if fed from a US 120v outlet.

Related, see if the turntable can be changed to run on 120v without the transformer. It may have the extra tap as well.
