Of those listed, Ogden's Nut Gone Flake has long been one of my favorite album covers (music's good too).

I thought everybody knew the best album cover of all time is this one: :D

I'm surprised that Atom Heart Mother or the original Blind Faith cover didn't make the list.... or In The Court of the Crimson King.... or Animals.... or a lot of covers.

John

As small as the list was, they didn't do a bad job. what we need is a "top 200" or so

Wasn't the prism on Dark Side of the Moog shaped a bit like Australia?

Puh-leeze. That's a list of a few classics and some other crap (some of which contains good albums, sure). More like "Best Album art in my Iphone music library, which came from downloading the bands I found on some recent Rolling Stone list". Or, "Best album art suggested by the three dudes in this office right now off the top of their heads and then we looked it up on Wikipedia and there was information on about half of them so we made jokes about the other ones".

Actually, more like "Best way to get a bunch of hits on this stupid blog without doing any actual research or original writing".

Just a friendly warning - at least one of the covers is NSFW.

Thanks for the warning... I still have not actually gone thru the list!

As for the other comments here... given the source I was kind of afraid this list would be of the "album art from my iPod" form. :nono:
Sometimes it seems 'Wired' is like Short Attention Span Theatre for the moderately educated, moderately technical crowd.

Not one Ohio Players cover in the bunch. Epic fail.

Tom

...That's because the Ohio Players aren't available for download on iTunes! They have no idea who they are... or what their covers look like! (Which can, admittedly, be pretty hot.):thmbsp:

This. My vote is for Ween's "Chocolate & Cheese"

I'm not sure anyone of those covers would have made my best 200 list. Mostly boring and relying on famous bands, which make me suspect that the compilers haven't actually seen many covers. Or they just have bad taste. Or worse, and more likely, just boring taste. Focus group here we come!
